We offer 4 types of classes. Regardless of what class is chosen by the clients, classes will have no more than 4 students. Since safety is our first priority, we are committed to provide students the safest learning environment possible. We believe that 4 is the maximum number a class should have in order to ensure safety and that our students individual needs are being addressed. Each class is 40 min long.

Class Information

GROUP LESSONS:

Up to 4 swimmers will be placed in each group depending on the class schedule sign up and availability. Swimmers will be required to sign up for an eight class session at a time. Why eight classes at a time? We at Planet Swim School believe that this is the optimum number of lessons a swimmer should take in one month in order to maximize improvement. Classes will be offered on a daily basis.

Tuition:

Group Lessons (up to 4 swimmers):

- $145.00 for 8 lessons (If singing up on a session to session base.)

- $135.00 for 8 lessons (If commiting to a monthly recurring payment plan.)

SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS:

Two swimmers, one teacher! This is perfect if your kid feels uncomfortable when working in a group or if your kids prefer to be taught with a friend in the same class. Just bring a friend and we will pair them up with one of our teachers and we promise lots of fun. In order to ensure improvement for the kids a minimum of 6 lessons will be required when signing up for semi-private lessons.

Tuition:

Semi-Private Lessons: (2 swimmers):

- $290.00 for 8 lessons (If singing up on a session to session base.)

- $275.00 for 8 lessons (If commiting to a monthly recurring payment plan.)

PRIVATE LESSONS:

One-on-one teaching is a very efficient way to learn and improve swimming skills. Enrollment in this type of class is recommended for (not restricted) swimmers that have already experienced group or semi-private lessons. This is also a great opportunity for competitive swimmers to learn last minute tips and tune up a little right before their competition. Due to the nature of this class structure swimmers will be required to register for a minimum of four lessons.

Private Lessons:(1 Swimmer)

- $250.00 for 4 lessons (If singing up on a session to session base.)

- $230.00 for 4 lessons (If commiting to a monthly recurring payment plan.)

- $380.00 for 8 lessons (If singing up on a session to session base.)

- $360.00 for 8 lessons (If commiting to a monthly recurring payment plan.)

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

At Planet Swim School we accept the following credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express and Diners Club. We also accept payment by check and cash. Checks are payable to: Planet Swim LLC. There will be a $25.00 fee on returned check by the bank due to insufficient funds.

Adult programs are desgined to help those individuals who want to reach swimming related goals; from overcoming a childhood fear, tyring a new way to stay in shape, train for a specific event or simply to acquire a new skill.

Whatever your reasons and goals are, our staff will plan and help you reach those goals. With a very experienced coaching staff you can get to your objectives faster!

Adult Lessons

Great opportunity to learn in a one-on-one set up from Olympic and World Ranked swimmers as well as world class swim coaches. This type of set up is designed to help High School, Masters, College and Club swimmers as well as Triathletes to get an extra edge on the competition. We will work with you on tecnnique and maintain and imporve your fitness level.

Traiathle/Masters Program Training

This program is designed for Triathletes and Masters swimmers who seek a better trainig for their swimming. We will help you improve your swimming leg portion with technique changes that are fundamental for open water swims, that will translate in a more relaxed swim and less energy used.

Elite Lessons powered by IKKOS™ Training System

Ikkos Training results in fast, very accurate acquisition of desired technique. Using Neuroplasticity theories, you will be able to refine your technique taking you to the next level. Whether you are a triathlete, swimmer or just want to improve your swimming technique, WE CAN MAKE YOU BETTER!

In one-on-one sessions, we will refine your technique to best in the world. IKKOS™ will re-heighten and esclate your perception of limits. You will notice results in the same session, guaranteed.

Adult Lessons

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO LEARN!

Planet Swim School offers adult lessons for individuals who want to learn how to swim or simply want to exercise and be better at it. Swimming is not only a skill but also a great sport. It is also a relaxing and low stress body and joints impact sport which is ideal for adults to keep fit and healthy. Swimming is a great way to get a full body workout after or before a hard day of work.

Don't let age stop you from learning something you always wanted to do. Planet Swim School offers Private and Semi-Private lessons to help you and your friends reach your goals.

Pre-Register

Private Lessons

Private lessons are offered to those individuals who would like to learn at their own pace or want to correct something specific in their stroke.

We offer very flexible hours and offer lessons year-round to make it more convenient to the busiest working schedule.

Fee: $240/month (4 Lessons), two lessons (40 min) per week

Semi-Private Lessons

Semi-Private lessons are excellent to train with a partner who is looking to imporve in the same areas you are. This is fun way to excercise and get better! These lessons are excellent for those who need extra schedule flexibility .

Groups must be pre-arranged. Flexible hours.

Fee: $180/month (4 lessons). two lessons (40 min) per week

Planet Swim Triathlete/Masters Training Program

Whether you are training for your next Ironman, triathlon or just want to stay in shape, Planet Swim will take the challenge and partner up with you to make your Triathlon and swimming experience better. We all know that swimming is a very important component on your training plan, so let the experts guide you through the optimum training plan for you and help you reach your goal. Planet Swim Triathlon/Masters offers 10 training sessions per week which will certainly help to improve your swimming performance. Our coaching staff includes former world class swimmers and internationally recognized swimming coaches who have over 20 years of combined swimming experience.

Group Training Program

IKKOS Training System

Ikkos training teaches athletes to learn movement patterns or techniques much more quickly and accurately than traditional teaching methods. To learn precise physical movement, Ikkos uses theories of neuroplasticity (the brain is malleable and reorganizes itself). This training method enables the student to actively focus their brain at a high level, possibly recruiting more of the brain’s focus for greater ‘processing speed‘. Ikkos is patent pending.

Elite Lessons

Elite Lessons

One-on-one stroke mechanics correction sessions to help you swim more efficiently. The Elite Lessons uses theories of neuroplasticity applied through the innovative patent-pending IKKOS System, you will be able to learn precise technique patterns and make the changes you need to improve your swimming technique.

IKKOS Lessons

Lessons using IKKOS System to reinforce or acquire new technique, Each session lasts anywhere between 40 to 60 min depending on the skill being acquired.

Stroke Lab

Stroke Lab

Planet Swim School and its coaching staff have created something that may go beyond the confines of traditional swimming practice. The staff is aware of the limitations of standard practice sessions and the ability to provide one-on-one technical instruction while administering drills and training sets for the group.

Due to these limitations is that Planet Swim School has created Stroke Lab, where our coaching staff provides in-depth technical stroke instruction and analysis to a limited group of swimmers. Instruction will often include a lecture and presentation in addition to pool time. Our coaches have a variety of tools at their disposal, including underwater video camera.

Each Stroke Lab session will examine a specific stroke or technique and will seek to open the swimmer up to a greater fundamental and technical understanding of the movements that add up to greater speed and efficiency in the pool. Stroke Lab session will be limited to 20 swimmers per session and it is perfect for those seeking stroke improvements and maintaining their endurance.

Stroke Lab is perfect for you, whether you are preparing for your upcoming high school and club swimming season or getting ready for your next triathlon, this program will certainly help. We hope to see many of you continue to work with us.

A recently formed non-profit organization located in Jacksonville, FL that aims to promote the sport of swimming through education and safety by preventing drowning in communities with limited physical and financial access to both pools and water safety instruction. Our goal is to raise funds to help underprivileged families benefit from potentially life-saving swim instruction.

Our goal is to raise enough funds to sponsor a year-round swim lesson program and teach 600 children from the Jacksonville Metro Area by the end of 2011.

Teaching Method

Planet Swim Teaching Method (PSTM)

Planet Swim Teaching Method combines decades of elite competitive swimming with teaching and coaching experience where each child is taught based on individual skills and motor development while committed to safety and camaraderie.

PSTM is based on 3 basic concepts involved in swimming: Floatation, Breath Control and Displacement. Where floatation and breath control are the very first concept taught and displacement is its consequence. PSTM is very unique in the sense that it utilizes its own 16-step teaching progression technique to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to safely learn the necessary skills to become a first class swimmer.

Our PSTM aims to teach swimming taking in consideration age, skill, motor and pedagogical level. Any child can start as early as 1 year old while adapting to the aquatic environment and will continue moving up to the Intermediate and Youth levels where they will fully develop their skills while swimming safely.

PSTM Highlights:

A maximum of 4:1 student/teacher ratio.

Periodic Evaluations.

Schedule of learning skills goals for each week in each group.

Group placement by swimming level and age.

Monthly report cards listing each kids improvement. (8 Lessons)

Certification for every level completed and a Final Certificate for swimmers graduating from Planet Swim School.

PSTM Evaluations

We at Planet Swim believe that evaluating is very important in order to measure the children's progress. Our teaching method evaluates each child after 16 classes (Bi-monthly) and results are available through an evaluation report card. Instructors will evaluate skills learned in an objective and realistic manner in order to accurately determine the childs progress.

The evaluations are based on the skills taught in each group and in order to move up to the next group one must have obtained 80% of the maximum score.

Certification

In recognition to the child's progress and efforts, Planet Swim will issue a certificate for each swimmer completing any level and a final graduation certificate for swimmers completing the full program.

Policies

Policies

Effective as of September 1st 2011

Please read through each policy. Our objective is to define our policies clearly and concisely. If you have any questions regarding the policies below, please ask.

Payment Policy

1. There are NO refunds for the registration fee.

2. Payment must be made in advance for 4/8 lessons or pro-rated when applicable.

Pro-rated lessons will be setup as follows

•1 week after session has started 6 lessons sign-up

•2 weeks after session has started- 4 lessons sign-up

•3 weeks after session has started- 2 lessons sign-up (Required to sign up to next session as well)

Class Changes

1. Parents are able to change their child (ren) class time once every 4 weeks. For each additional change within a 4 wk session, there is a $10.00 administrative fee.

2. If your child is advanced to the next level, we will move the child up. This is not considered a class change but an improvement based on your childs ability.

Missed Classes / Excused Absences / Make up options

1. If your child is sick or unable to attend class, please call or email us minimum 2 hours ahead of class to obtain an excused absence. If you are unable to speak with our office staff, it is ok to leave a message with your childs name, class and time s/he will not be able to attend.

2. If you are unable to attend class or know that you have a conflicting event, we ask that you notify us in advance. We will mark it in our records that you have spoken with us and are entitled to one of the excused absence make up options.

Make up option: If you attend class 2 x wk over the course of 4 weeks, your excused absence can be made up in a different class. If you attend class 1x wk over the course of 4 weeks, your absence can be made up at a different day and time granted pool space and a staff member is available. This must be prearranged in the office.

8 lessons over the course of 4 weeks - Make up to 2 excused absence

4 lessons over the course of 4 weeks - Make up 1 excused absence

3. Excused absences will expire at the end of the session. Clients are welcome to use their excused absences in advance.

4. There will be no make up lessons for missed make up lesson.

5. If you fail to notify our office with a minimum of 2 hours before class time that you will not be able to attend, this lesson will be considered a NO SHOW (N/S) and will not be eligible for a make up.

Weather Related Cancellations

In case of inclement weather the staff will contact parents through phone/email to cancel the lesson 30 minutes before the start of the lesson. This lesson can be made up and will not be counted against your allowed make up lessons.

Renewal Policy

1. Renewal sign-up can be done directly online on our website, by phone or coming to our office. We please ask you notify the office your intention to renew one week in advance before the new session starts.

Pool area Safety

1. Parents, siblings and visitors are not allowed on the pool deck floor. We have an observation deck that allows you to watch your child while in class. Parents are welcome to drop off their children and pick them up at the before and after class.

2. Students are not allowed to use the swimming equipment before or after class.

3. Observers are not to talk to their children while in class. If you need to remove your child early from the class, please speak with someone at the front desk and they will notify the instructor.

4. Parents are responsible for their children until the start of class.

5. Any student who misbehaves during class will be asked to sit down in time out. If the situation continues, parents will be notified to assist in determining whether the child should continue class. We teach from a positive approach, but cannot tolerate potentially dangerous behavioral situations.

Our definition of a time out: Students will be asked to sit down and regroup before joining class. We will handle it in a positive manner so that safety and learning can continue.

Class Preparation

1. Hair: Long hair must be pulled back and secured under designated Planet Swim School cap during class.

2. Jewelry: Do not wear rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces or long earrings to class. Students are advised to wear stud earrings only if ears are newly pierced. Otherwise please leave your jewelry at home. Please leave all valuables at home as we are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

4. Warm ups: We ask that children arrive promptly at the beginning of class in order to warm up safely.

Swim Lesson Gear

1. All of our student must bring swimwear and a towel. Goggles are recommended

2 .Non-potty trained children must wear a disposable swim diaper. No disposable swim diapers are not allowed.

FAQs

•Can I enroll my child after a session has started?

oYes, lessons will be charged as pro-rated for the lessons left in the current session. So no worries!

•What do I need to bring to swim lessons?

oBesides your kids, youll need to bring swimwear, goggles and a towel. Swim diaper (if needed), adult swimsuit if youre getting in youre your kid and instructor. Sandals are recommended as well as sunscreen.

•Can my child always have the same instructor?

oAbsolutely! Please call Planet Swim when scheduling and we will let you know when your favorite instructor will be available.

•Can I make up a session?

oPlanet Swim School offers make-up lessons for when your kid is unable to attend. Please read the policies carefully to see if youre eligible for a make up or how to request for one.

•How do I know my childs level?

oYou can go on our website (www.planetswimschool.com) and read each level and the skills required when signing up your child. After the firs session the instructor will determine if this level is adequate or if a change is needed.

•What if my child has a medical condition?

oPlease let the office staff during registration process about any medical condition your child may have so we can accommodate your childs necessities.

•Can I change my childs class to a different day and/or time?

oAt Planet Swim we understand that plans and commitments change. If you are having difficulties to make your scheduled lessons please let us know ahead of time and we will re-schedule your lessons to your convenience.

•What should I do if my child cries during class?

oIt is normal for children to cry during their first lessons. Often they are crying because of separation from mommy and daddy, a new instructor and a new environment. We find that it usually takes between 3 and 6 lessons for a child to settle into their classes.

oSuggestions on how you can help:

•Walk your child out on deck and hand him/her over to the teacher. By handing your child over to the teacher, you are telling your child that you trust the teacher.

•If your crying child continually looks at you and calls to you, break eye contact. This can easily be done by looking at a magazine or book every time your child looks at you.
